Eligibility requirements

Use this checklist as a first review. The provider’s current rules make the final decision.

  • Citizenship and residence must meet the country award rules.
  • A qualifying undergraduate degree completed at least two years before the deadline.
  • At least 2,800 hours of work experience after undergraduate study.
  • Return to your country of award for at least two years after the scholarship.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Confirm the current application cycle

    Open the official sources, then verify the intake, eligible degree, citizenship or residence rules, and every deadline.

  2. Choose the correct route

    Check your country award and select three eligible UK courses.

  3. Prepare and submit

    Submit the Chevening application through your country page; apply to universities separately.

  4. Complete selection and admission

    If selected, complete the interview and submit an unconditional offer by the official offer deadline.

  5. Check the final submission

    Confirm every attachment and referee submission was received. Save the application receipt and monitor the official portal and your email.

  6. Review the written offer

    Confirm tuition, stipend, insurance, travel, duration, renewal rules and any conditions before accepting.
